The ToneFreq Podcast Launches May 1st!
Hey gang! Things have been pretty hectic around here and I really appreciate everyone's feedback via e-mail and Twitter. Good news is that the 2010 ToneFreq Summer NAMM benefit is gearing up to be a killer show and that my podcast is getting ready to launch on May 1st! The ToneFreq Podcast's pilot show will have me as host along with co-host Tony Pasko. We will be talking the latest guitar gear and gadgets. I will also be interviewing Eric Willis of The Wicked Woody Pedal Board company! He's got a great product and we will chat about pedal boards and give away a Wicked Woody board to a lucky listener! It's going to be a great time. Stay tuned there is more on the horizon!

James Tyler Variax
James Tyler Variax is the first truly advanced guitar of the 21st century, and its story is as deep and colorful as a flame-top finish.
Welcome to the opening post of TylerVariax.com, your portal to all things JTV. Over the coming months you’ll be privy to production information that most guitar companies would rather keep secret. But we’re not like most guitar companies, and this is no ordinary guitar.
What makes a JTV a JTV? Simple: an innovative design and boutique playing experience courtesy of master luthier James Tyler, and the world’s most advanced guitar modeling technology from the people who invented it, Line 6.
What went into making a JTV? Not so simple: tons of component choices, aesthetic choices, engineering hours, advances in modeling technology, design revisions, late nights, deadlines, arguments, battles with LA traffic, and much, much more.
If you are attending Musikmesse 2010 in Frankfurt, Germany, you may be able to see or even play some of the guitars we are previewing from our pilot run. If not, don’t worry, this blog will cover those guitars and much more. Plus, we’ll be tweeting from around the show. Don’t miss a thing!
Team JTV is gearing up to tell its story in obsessive detail. Make sure to bookmark this page, add it to your RSS feed, and check back often to hear from the people in the trenches, and from the artists who are forever grateful. Look out for videos, photos, words, and whatever else they can dig up to tell the story of the most important modeling guitar we’ve ever made.

Vox Adds AGA150 To Acoustic Guitar Amplifier Line
MUSIKMESSE, FRANKFURT, GERMANY, March 24, 2010 — VOX Amplification has added the new AGA150 to its Acoustic Guitar Amplifier series. Joining the recently launched AGA70, the upscale AGA150 boasts twice the power of the AGA70 (150 Watts vs. 70 Watts); adds an additional tweeter for a more refined high end; and features a compact and efficient power amp designed in conjunction with Bang and Olufsen to produce a super clean and powerful sound. The VOX AGA150 is designed from the ground up to meet the challenges of today's modern acoustic performer.
Both two-channel amps feature a Normal channel and a Tube Pre channel, complete with a 12AU7 dual triode vacuum tube. Each channel is equipped with a standard guitar input, as well as a microphone input with selectable phantom power. For the singer-instrumentalist, an electro-acoustic guitar or mic can be connected to each channel. An additional Lo-Z / Hi-Z switch on each input accommodates a variety of signal levels.
Working in harmony with the traditional Bass, Middle and Treble EQ controls, the Color knob allows the overall tone to be quickly shifted during performance. A full complement of effects is available on each channel. The Chorus effect is selectable via a switch; Reverb can be added in any amount using the Reverb knob. The Anti-Feedback control minimizes acoustic feedback, allowing the AGA150/AGA70 to be used as an effective stage monitor.
Equipped with a DI (balanced XLR) output, the AGA150/AGA70 offers a convenient way to send the sound to a larger PA system without requiring a direct box. This output is also ideal for recording, using the AGA150/AGA70 as a tube-driven preamplifier. Stereo line inputs can accept the signal from a keyboard or other musical instrument. An MP3 player (or other audio source) can be connected to the AUX input to enjoy a jam session. The Tuner output is always active – even when the main output is muted – for silent tuning between songs and sets. The optional VFS2 provides footswitch control of the Effect Bypass or All Mute functions, offering great flexibility during a live performance.
AGA150 - 150 Watts; two channels (Normal; Tube Pre) 6.5" full-range speaker; 1" soft-dome tweeter - TBA 2010
AGA70 - 70 Watts; two channels (Normal; Tube Pre) 6.5" full-range speaker $ 550.00 available now!
