This floor version of the RPM rackmount provides detailed tone shaping possibilities for any signal source. It is particularly useful with acoustic, electric and bass guitars, and upright bass, either direct to a mixing console or with an instrument amplifier. The Para Driver DI gives your instrument a natural warmth and presence, as if miking it through a tube pre-amp. The SansAmp circuitry eliminates the harsh, unnatural harmonics of piezo pickups, while the Drive control offers some tasteful edge - just a little or over-the-top.
Active tone controls with 12dB of cut or boost
Sweepable semi-parametric EQ
1/4" 4.7 megOhm instrument level input
1/4" and XLR outputs with selectable levels
Parallel, uneffected output to run a dry signal to a separate channel
Actual size: 4.5" x 3.5" x 1.5"
Weight: 12 oz.

ToneFreq's Daily Pedal: Rocktron Third Angel Distortion
Rocktron is well known for outrageous distortion tones, and the Third Angel Distortion stomp box is no exception. Need it ultra heavy? If you seek heavy screaming over-the-top distortion, this is your pedal! Like all Rocktron Boutique Series Stompboxes the Third Angel Distortion is True- Bypass. When the pedal is off, it is out of your signal chain. Your tone remains unaffected!
Control knobs for the Third Angel Distortion include LEVEL which controls the output volume of the box. BASS controls bass level, while TREBLE controls the treble level settings. DECEIVE controls the amount of gain. UNRIGHTEOUS controls the distortion waveform symmetry and definition.
The Third Angel is a fantastic choice to use with tube amps, and works great with solid state amps too. This will provide you with an incredibly heavy sound and mind-blowing tone!
Plug this awesome pedal in and rock the house, rock the club, rock the arena with shockwaves of sound!

ToneFreq's Daily Pedal: Toadworks Barracuda Analog Flanger Pedal
In the Spring of 1977, millions of music fans rushed home to throw the new Heart album "Little Queen" on their record players. What they heard was one of the most explosive and powerful guitar riffs in the history of Rock & Roll.
The men playing that riff were Howard Leese & Roger Fisher, and the magic behind that sound was a custom-made analog flanger unit. Working closely with Howard Leese, ToadWorks has created an authentic, accurate emulation of the original custom-made flanger used on the 1977 smash-hit "Barracuda".
ToadWorks USA is proud to announce the release of the Howard Leese Signature Model analog flanger, Barracuda.
ToadWorks Barracuda is the ONLY production effect pedal that is designed to reproduce the unique flanger sounds featured on the 1977 Heart classic "Barracuda".
The circuit is a modern interpretation of the original custom unit, with a few exciting changes:
Designed around modern components
Stereo Output
Manual sweep control via an Expression Pedal
Addition of Level and Depth controls
Uses 9V DC power
Improved noise floor
Superior construction
As with all ToadWorks effect pedals, Barracuda ® is wired for true-bypass.

ToneFreq's Daily Pedal: Analogman ARDX20 Dual Analog Delay
From Gearmandude: "The new ARDX-20 from Analog Man. True Bypass, low power consumption, 600ms of delay. Very cool, strong sounding delay, plus, there's two of em! You can set up two different delays and switch between. It's a small footprint too, so it doesn't take up too much room on your board. I really dig the clarity and presence of the repeated sound. I'll be doing another demo using the expression pedal as well. I used a Gibson SG Les Paul and a Dr Z MAZ 18 for the demo."

Tweet-o-rama! Analog Stompboxes vs. Digital Multi-effects RESULTS!

@NeverAgain_39 - I use Analog pedals. Why? Price and I'm not in a band I just play around on my guitar a lot
@jtsimeone - analog pedals only w tune amp multi effect digital not a natural sound
@jhale667 - What do I gig with, you ask? ;) http://bit.ly/hUhme & a Boogie MK III
@homesickfrank - just a straight signal from the guitar - no efx at all.... except a touch of reverb.
@effectsbay - Analog pedals. Because I like to enhance my existing natural tone. Also, I like the simplicity of stomp boxes
@sarge1875 - Analog
@krisbellmusic - Warmer tone, easier to control, and very dependable.
@iheartguitar - Digital for a while, but went back to pedals because they sound fuller and are more fun to collect.
@brettwall - I use both digital FX and analog pedals when playing. Why? I use the analog to "Warm" up the digital. Tube OD adds tone
@ProTonePedals - Analog- because you can DEPEND on them - ;-) I'm down w/that.
@AbsintheJunk - Analog all the way man. Nothing beats that warm silkiness! Digital may have more tricks but it ain't worth the harshness.

Depeche Mode "Enjoy The Silence (Live)"
I'm a real fan of "dark wave" 80's rock and one of my favorite bands of that era is Depeche Mode. The synth, drum machines and brit-spy guitar tone comes together perfectly in this live track. ToneFreq's Daily Pedal: Danelectro French Toast Octave Fuzz Pedal
I have had mixed feelings about these plastic Dano pedals. I bought a tuner that lasted one gig and an EQ pedal that has lasted 9 years! I think the key is "wear and tear." These pedals are not made for rugged use so if you are particularly hard on your gear you may want to save up a couple more bucks to get a more sturdy pedal. This pedal does sound cool for the price and would once again be a neat stocking stuffer.

ToneFreq's Daily Pedal: Ibanez Tube King Distortion
A regal name in distortion pedals, the Tube King returns to the Ibanez lineup. While the name and purpose of the Ibanez distortion pedal is the same as the original '90s models, this version of Tube King, the TK999HT, differs from its two predecessors in that it features internal high voltage DC circuitry instead of previous "starved plate" low voltage circuitry. Ibanez says that makes a significant difference.
With the TK999HT the 12AX7 gets normal DC high voltage, allowing total linear operation of the tube. It works just like a tube preamp because it effectively is one! The result is that the TK999HT distortion pedal makes any solid-state amp sound like a tube amp. The distortion is massive yet tight.
Ibanez TK999HT Tube King Distortion Pedal Features:
Genuine High Voltage Tube Distortion Pedal
12AX7 Tube
3-Band Active EQ plus Presence Switch for Exacting Tone Control
VOID Control for Sharp Rhythmic Dynamics
Rigid Zinc Die-cast Case
12-Volt AC Adaptor Included
Controls:
Drive
Level
Three Bands of Active EQ (LO/MID/HI)
Presence Switch
VOID (adjustable noise gate - can also used for "machine gun" riff effects favored by metal players.)

ToneFreq's Daily Pedal: TC Electronic Nova Reverb
TC Electronic NR-1 Nova Reverb
The TC Electronic NR-1 Nova Reverb stereo reverb pedal puts the sought-after quality and sound of TC Electronics reverb processors right at your feet! The NR-1 Nova Reverb lets you choose five different reverb types. Two sturdy footswitches let you choose between presets or select a manual setting, five knobs shape and mix the reverb to your taste, plus you get buttons to select reverb type. An impressive DynaMix function lets you "duck" the reverb to eliminate muddiness, and the Nova Reverb NR-1 even lets you reverse the function.
Built on the legacy and knowledge of TC's legendary reverb processors, the NR-1 Nova Reverb raises the bar for guitar effect pedals and redefines what it means to be "state-of-the-art." The stereo Nova Reverb offers you uncompromising studio quality digital effects in a compact floor-based design that's perfect for any stage or studio.
The NR-1 Nova Reverb gives you two settings selectable via the two footswitches: Manual, which represents the current position of the knobs and Preset, which is a stored sound that can be recalled at any time. The pedal features five different reverb types: room, spring, hall, plate, and specials. You can easily choose between anything from the warm vintage sounding Classic Spring to the pristine and stunningly realistic TC Classic Hall - or any setting in between.
The NR-1 Nova Reverb also has a unique new feature called DynaMix™. DynaMix acts as a dynamic ducking effect that turns down the reverb while you're playing and turns it back up again when you're not playing. This prevents the sound from getting muddy - especially when using large hall reverb types - but will still give you that huge live venue effect while the notes decay. The DynaMix effect can also be reversed, so the reverb is turned up while playing and gated when the input signal falls below a certain level, producing a truly unique and out-of-this-world effect.
TC Electronic NR-1 Nova Reverb Stereo Reverb features:
High-quality TC Electronic digital reverb processing in a compact pedal design
Stereo operation
Two sturdy footswitches
Five reverb types: room, spring, hall, plate, and specials
Reversible DynaMix "ducking" function
Five shaping and mixing knobs
Five reverb type selectors

Gibson USA's Buckethead Signature Les Paul

From his prolific solo work, to his prominent memberships in the supergroup Praxis and rock legends Guns N’ Roses, Buckethead has displayed one of the most fiery creative personas of our times, and has continually affirmed his stance in the upper echelon of contemporary shredders. Equally attention-grabbing as his incendiary chops, Buckethead’s stage show and visual presence remain unique among the rock field, and his Gibson guitars—a white Les Paul in particular—have always been a big part of that. As Gibson continues to roll out the Rocktober action, the Buckethead Signature Les Paul celebrates this unparalleled artist’s achievements. With an oversized, chambered Les Paul body, a marker-less ebony fingerboard, and Buckethead’s choice of Gibson’s contemporary ceramic humbucking pickups—complete with modified electronics and “arcade” style kill switches—this is a Les Paul like none to have come before. It’s primed to get you noticed, and designed for utmost performance for the contemporary rock, metal, and shred performer.

Dan Boul Explains 65 Amps Lil' Elvis
It comes in at a robust 12 watts running 2 EL-84's, 3 ECC-83's and a 6CA4 rectifier. The controls are volume, tone, speed and intensity (for the trem) an FX loop and our new Master Voltage knob that brings it down to about 2 watts. It will come in a small head and small 112 combo. It will sell for less than the rest of the 65 line because it's an easier build. We did not cut any corners. We're still using Mercury transformers, Sozo caps etc...
As a side note ... Sam left out that the amp has a foot switchable trem and bump (which is sort of like a boost).

ToneFreq's Daily Pedal: Zvex Lo Fi Loop Junky
The ZVex Lo-Fi Loop Junky is the antithesis to the modern digital looper pedal. It's all analog, with no A-to-D Conversion of any kind, it samples for up to 20 seconds, and everything you record into it will sound totally different coming out the other end. It features lots of hiss, noise, distortion, and other analog artifacts and is capable of making your little guitar loop sound like a scratched, warbly old record.
The Lo-Fi Loop junky does feature a very transparent guitar preamp built in to preserve your direct tone, and a velvety, smooth compression for nice organ-esque tones. It also has a built-in Vibrato with Speed and Depth control knobs for making warped record sounds or for imparting a chorused, Leslie rotating speaker style tone to your loops. There is also a tone knob to roll off any unwanted hiss or to add warmth to your loop, but since the this pedal has a very limited frequency response (nothing above 2.6Khz) too much treble shouldn't be a huge problem. The Loop Junky has a simple LED status indicator that lights up solid while recording, blinks once at the end of every loop, and stops completely in bypass mode. In the interest of tone preservation the Lo-Fi Loop Junky does feature True Bypass switching just like all other ZVex pedals.
The ZVex Lo-Fi Loop Junky pedal is super simple to operate, with five obvious knob controls, an on/off stomp switch, a record stomp switch, and a tiny save switch in the upper right-hand corner to save your beloved loop for up to 100 years. Seriously. 100 years, even with the battery unplugged, should you manage to record the Golden Loop and want to preserve it forever.
The ZVex Lo-Fi Loop Junky Pedal is handmade and hand-painted in Minneapolis, Minnesota and is warranted to be free from manufacturing defects for as long as Zachary Vex is on earth.

ToneFreq's Daily Pedal: Pro Tone Pedal's P.E. Delay+
Built to meet the demands of full time touring guitarist Pete Evick, lead guitarist for The Bret Michaels Band. Pete required a delay pedal with enough vintage tone to keep his sound authentic, and enough gain control to boost his signal, and thicken his sound during solos.
The Delay control adjusts the delay time. The Mix control offers the user full control of the balance of wet and dry signal. The Repeats control determines the number of repeats. Full counter clock wise allows one repat to come through, while full clockwise allows endless repeats to create lush sonic landscapes. The Volume control acts as a master volume control and can range from dead silent to a boosted signal that will send your amp into an overdriven heaven.

Gibson Introduces a New Line of Angus Young Custom Shop and USA SGs!

For more than 35 years, AC/DC has represented the archetypal “big rock” guitar sound, setting the standards for countless bands to follow. In particular, Angus Young’s incendiary lead tone and mammoth rhythm crunch have inspired wave after wave of rock guitar heroes, and he has done it all on a Gibson SG Standard. The SG replaced the underappreciated Les Paul Standard in 1961, and while the Les Paul would surface later in the decade as a rock and blues classic, the new SG (originally named Les Paul/SG) was an instant hit in its own right. Its simple yet inspired ingredients of thin, all-mahogany body and neck and two Gibson humbucking pickups gave it a snappy attack with a muscular punch, and its slim, fast neck yielded unprecedented playability. Now the Gibson Custom Shop offers its reproduction of one of the world’s most renowned SGs in the form of the Angus Young SG, a Limited Edition that captures the tone, look, and feel of this rare specimen among a classic breed, but which updates this legendary guitar with custom modifications requested by Angus himself.
Angus Young acquired his 1968 SG Standard in 1970, and has used it on all major AC/DC recordings and many tours since the band’s inception in 1973. Young’s ’68 SG is known to be a superb example of this model, with an unusually slim neck, pickups that blend just the right proportions of power and sweetness, and a resonant, vocal tone that represents the best of the SG formula. Listen closely to any classic AC/DC tune, and the tone is huge, but not filthy or fizzy. Angus’s ’68 SG achieves a stunning clarity and definition right within its bone-crushing thump and grind. With utmost attention to detail, the Angus Young SG seeks to achieve that tone, aided by a pair of custom-spec Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbucking pickups. And with 50 guitars out of the total run of 250 aged in-house by Gibson and signed by Angus himself, this outstanding Custom Shop reproduction also nails the look of this legendary guitar, with upgraded modifications at Angus’s request, including an ebony fingerboard with “lightning bolt” inlays (a further 200 guitars will receive the VOS treatment). The Custom Shop Angus Young SG will also be sold with a custom Certificate of Authenticity, a Gibson Custom Shop hardshell case, and a full range of owner’s manuals and instruction sheets.

Brad Paisley and Wampler Pedals
-------------------------------
I spoke with Brad Paisley's tech as well this week and overnighted another ego
compressor for Brad to use on the CMA's and Good Morning America this next week.
Chad (Brad's tech) says that Brad is LOVING the ego comp and the delay... and up
until receiving his first ego compressor last month he hasn't really been using
any compressor at all! Chad says he's really loving the pedals and has them in both
the normal stage rigs as well as the gear they use on fly dates...and the ego comp
is left on nearly ALL the time.
Check out Brad on the CMA's next week and on Good Morning America and listen for our pedals!
Thanks,
Brian

ToneFreq's Daily Pedal: Fulltone GT-500 GT500 Overdrive Distortion Pedal

What's special about the EQ?
The Hi-Gain side has a discrete Inductor-Driven Midrange circuit....never been done in a pedal before. Yes there's a wah wah inductor inside the pedal that gives the Midrange control its ability to drastically increase or decrease the entire Low Mid, Mid, and Hi-Mid frequencies, to comical proportions. All this is done without any opamps because all of the active 3 Band EQ's I've tried are horrible, killing all harmonics, all excitement, and sounding as sterile as the "EQ" in a Digital Recording Program. Nope, this has 100% discrete matched FET's ;)
This Mid control mixed with a strong Bass and Treble control help give the GT-500 the ability to dial in more variations than a simple tone control, which can only roll off the Highs.
What's the "Series switch" in the middle do? The Series Select Switch allows you to choose which pedal comes first (allowing you to instantly change the order of the 2 circuits)
Booster ------> Distortion
or
Distortion-------> Booster for example: A Clean Boost slamming into the front end a Distortion sounds way different than a Distortion followed by the clean Boost...and when the EQ"s of the respective sides come into play, it's a wide open canvas. Regardless of which side of the pedal is designated as "first in line" you can still use each side by itself...completely independent of the other side.
Street Price: $180

ToneFreq's Daily Pedal: Freakshow Effects Digilog Delay
Freakshow Effects Digilog delay. The Digilog Delay will satisfy those of you who have a decent or even vintage delay pedal. Freakshow has also addressed the "UFO" noise that only an analog delay can make when driven into oscillation in a unique way ...they added a feedback/sustain foot switch.
They have also gone to great lengths to give you a pedal that will look great, sound great, and not make you feel guilty about that hard earned money on just "another" effect pedals.
Freakshow pedals are painstakingly 100% hand painted, hand assembled, and hand tested in the good 'ol state of Maine. Pride is taken in what they do and only make products they use themselves.
The pedals are hand painted in a uniquely antique freakshow way by Portland Maine artist Patrick Corrigan.
Switchable 0-300ms, 300 to 600ms

Decay knob
On/Off switch

Dr. Z Brake Lite

The new Z Brake Lite Attenuator will be right at home mounted inside your combo amp. Like the Airbrake, there is no sacrifice in tone. Perfect for dialing in your combo to it’s sweet spot while dialing back the volume level.
The Brake Lite works with any tube amp up to 45 watts and can be used with 4, 8, or 16, ohm loads. Very simple to install, the Brake Lite mounts with 2 screws and has a hardwired speaker cable to plug into the amp chassis. Plug the speaker into the Brake Lite and you are ready to go.
Please note: the Brake Lite is NOT a stand alone unit and needs to be mounted in a combo for proper operation

ToneFreq's Daily Pedal: Earthquaker Devices White Light Overdrive
The White Light Overdrive is my take on what an overdrive should be. Based more in the area of vintage overdrives (like the DOD 250 or MXR Distortion+... and no, it's not a clone of anything) with more control over the voice and a lot more "modern" presence to make it more dynamic. Don't let the lack of tone control turn you off, what you put in is what you get out and you can adjust the low end and saturation to your liking w/ the "Weight" control.
Controls
Gain- Controls the amount of distortion
Weight- A multi-functional control, allows the level of saturation, bass response and the over all feel of the device to be altered.
Level- Controls the output
Compression Switch-
• Less= Open w/ more high-mid's and bite.
• More= Crunchy and compressed with a bit less bite and more flat mids.
• True Bypass with LED Indicator
• Standard Boss-Style 9v adapter or battery operation (battery included)
• High Quality parts throughout
• Handmade with care in Akron, Ohio
Street Price $145.00
